365-ish : 365 self portraits. Can I actually do it? Inspired by many others, I decided to give my creativity a kick in the pants with a Daily Photo project. With life happening too fast, quite often I lose the spark that drives me to pick up the camera. Hopefully I can maintain not only this project, but the ability to develop more as a photographer. Ideally, the majority of these will be self-portraits to help me get over my image complex and to document the most important, memorable moments of each day.

My rules:
1. At least part of myself in each shot. Every 24 hours.
2. EXIF data pulls rank. I travel and can't always upload on a timely matter, but the timestamp is as the timestamp does...
3. Try to document the dominant activity/event of the day. This is a journal-type project for me, too.
4. Having help is OK. While I always set up the shot myself, occasionally the location requires having someone else hit the shutter for me.

Daily : I am shooting with a Canon Rebel XT. I own just 2 lens, the kit 18-55mm and a 50mm 1.8. I find myself turning towards the 50mm more and more often. I took a photography class way back in high school. We went digital with a point and shoot in 2002. I love the freedom of digital. It is so nice to be able to just shoot and not worry about prints and what might turn out. I purchased the Rebel the end of the summer in 2007. I have loved getting back to using a camera with interchangeable lenses and more manual functions. My photos aren't perfect by a long shot, but I hope trying for a daily image will encourage me to practice. Helpful comments and suggestions are welcome!

Also, all 3 of my kids (ages 13, 12, and 6) have set up galleries under our site and "Budding Photographers". They would appreciate some visitors if you are inclined to take a look.

Although some of my galleries allow photos to be downloaded, for the comfort of friends and family, this one does not allow it. DAILY PHOTOS : For sometime I've been admiring other people's Daily Photo Galleries. Not just the photos themselves, but the commitment of actually taking a photo worthy of upload every day. No doubt some will end up being quite mundane, but maybe that is OK, daily life can be pretty mundane after all! But hopefully the commitment will push me to think more about my photographs, getting out of my comfort zone of landscapes, and make me look at the world through different eyes.

365 Don't count the days, make the days count! : Oops Leap year, 366!

"365 Days" is a project I started on January 20, 2008. It's a photo-journal, I'll take pictures daily (that is the goal), choose one or two, and post it to this site semi-daily.
I am excited about the prospect of being able to look back and see my past year in photos. I hope to learn alot along the way about framing, lighting, perspective and timing (basically everything). I'd appreciate any pointers/tips you have to offer.

Basically it's about sharing <b>a photo per day</b> in your daily life. There is <b>no rulebook</b> on what one should photograph - just be sure you <b>have fun</b> at doing it, because it's no competition of any kind and you're going to do it for a very long time if you like to. As a matter of fact I'm on my 619th picture by today (February 14th 2006) without having missed a single one. I started the project June 6th 2004 inspired by <a href="http://doctorit.smugmug.com">DoctorIt</a> and <a href="http://xoxo.smugmug.com">Vanessa Naylon</a>.<br>It's <b>no biggie if you miss a day</b> for a good reason - remember it's for fun and were're not here to prove anything to anyone, except for perhaps proving something to yourself. Just keep on posting your pictures and don't forget to add your new galleries to the community!<br><br>I'll reserve myself the right to remove some of the older galleries in case the community gets to cluttered. Currently, I'm not sure on how many galleries we should keep per member, so I just added some of my favorite months in addition to the most recent.
